I’m just a hobbyist and fairly a beginner currently using a Pioneer flx4. With no aspirations to do nightclub gigs, do you think this is worth it or should I look for something higher tier?

I've had these lights for a super long time - make sure you adjust the tilt agle from 270 to 180 degrees to get them to shine on the dance floor.

Speaking of longevity I ran the NS7 iii since 2015 nothing came close and the Rane 1 was just comparable. I had to buy a Rane 4 because Numark wouldn’t update the drivers to windows 11. I was the first in Michigan to get a Performer now it’s longevity will WAY OUT LIVE that Rev 7. It will be the new standard for other companies to live up to. It turns you into a musical magician. RIP Rev 7. Not knocking you guys that own one, to each his own.

Disappointed about the Reverb effect on the Rane. It was a big difference compared to the Rev-7.

With the new firmware update (v2.0.1) on the Pioneer Rev 7, there is stem split buttons...hold hot cue and press the scratch bank button. To enact the stem blue button function. So the Rev actually wins.... given its a 2 year controller.😊

Great review! What is the white skin you have on your Rev 7? Is that 12 inch skins? Would like to get a skin for that middle section for my Rev 7 that is becoming tattered and fading out around the crossfader area in the future.

I don’t mobile DJ anymore I’m now and on air personality country radio DJ but having my own studio I love this controller. I can’t tell you how long I’ve looked for controllers with the talk over feature and I can’t find any this controller is a win-win evidently my fans, love it. I've had turntables, CDJ's, Various controllers and never really used RANE because it seemed to be marketed at turntablists. Then recently, I got one from RANE. after a gig I did for them and using this thing feels like I've come full circle with all my experiences as a DJ combined in one device. I am SO impressed and mesmerized with this unit. It literally brings together the best of all worlds in one device. The only gripe I wish is that it was a standalone unit with two more USB inputs to connect some extra controllers to it from for example Denon. That would make it my holy grail of controllers then

Rane is more for a blender. The layout is more rane a House, Techno, Trance.

It's good that you measure the controllers . I really thought the pioneer rev 1 was really small ,until I got the rev 1 it wasn't that bad although still easy to carry around. Moving on to the rane performer ,it's an amazing controller to have .the display screens are bigger and 4 channels. Also dedicated stems buttons

Ever think of doing a rewind. See how the Numark NS7iii stacks up against the new ones. I bet it would still do very well. I consider it the one all others are judged against.

I stopped using Yelp after I signed up on it to write reviews. Submitted a handful of reviews of places, every single one of them was hidden and they said I wasn't established/trusted enough to leave reviews or some bs. Very quickly closed my account on there and haven't looked to them for reviews since. How are you supposed to become established with them if they're just gonna hide your reviews from the get-go?

I was waiting for a unit like the Rane Performer to come out after my NS7ii died, and wasn't happy with getting the Rev7 since it wasn't built natively with stems, so I bought the Inpulse T7, but now that I've been spoiled by an 11lbs controller, it's going to hurt going back up to a 28lbser. I'm hoping they will come up with an upgrade to the Rane One, I really don't think I'll use the stem features on the performer and I just want something that's more compact, lighter and streamlined, like the T7.

Another big advantage of the REV7 is that you can distribute 12 effects directly to 2 FX A+B banks - so you have 18 effects with the factory setting (6) available at the touch of a button - this is not possible with the Rane. The smooth echo is also a cool thing with the REV7

They are two very different controllers and Rane the material is more resistant. The sound card is 32-bit and that of the REV 7 is 24-bit and you can tell the difference. They don't compete between them and Rane Performer is far above all the controllers. Please let me know when you find the STEM-SPLIT in the REV 7.

100! My buddy had to borrow my Rane 1 for 4 months because his Rev 7 just would not talk to Serato DJ Pro. Like wtf?? Lol

Whats the difference between 2 and a 4 channel mixer.channel wise.let say if in case the 2 channels or at least of the asigned channels on the rane gone bad,can u asign another channel.where as the rev 7 has only 2.if in case obe gone bad,what do you do.are they replacable.

The REV-7 & Performer are 2 completely different controllers. Dont let the motorised jog wheels trick you. The REV-7 is a battle styled layout and the Performer is a wannabe FLX-10 for club djs who also plan on doing in clubs using in house equipment which is always pioneer. If you're a battle DJ and dont care about playing in clubs using club gear get the REV-7. However, if you are planning on playing in clubs and don't care about battling get the FLX-10 or the Performer.

Great Review. Owned Rane 70, S11 and Rev 7 and nothing sounds as good as the 70... Rane just sounds better. Pioneer still sounds great, just not the Rane...
